The Sorion Makita battery adaptor is specifically designed to accept the standard Makita MAKSTAR slide on power tool batteries, for example Nicad 12V (BH1233), 14.4V (BH1433) or Li-Ion 14.4V(BL1430) . Other BH/BL batteries should fit, but this has not been validated.
The Sorion Makita battery adaptor is recommended for the building of test and setting equipment where high current supplies are required. See Sorion Assembly Aids for examples of such applications.
The advantage of using a standard power tool battery is the ready availabilty of recharging facilities and the availability of high energy power at a competative price.
