This unit is now obsolete and has been replaced with the Pyxis KBDEM. If you do require a PS2 interface then the Pyxis KBDEM can be used with a PS2 / USB adaptor, see here for an example part.
However a small quanity of the these units are still available as clearance items.
See Pyxis KBDEM
The PYXIS KBDIO is a PS2 keyboard interface specifically designed to allow the connection of industrial pushbuttons to a PC, when the standard keyboard is not required, or most likely not wanted.
The PYXIS KBDIO is provided with 8 low level digital I/O lines. These are used to scan the attached push buttons and will return standard key codes. These codes can be selected depending upon the connections made to the KBDIO.
The power for operation is derived from the PC host over the PS2 interface, simplifying installation, status LEDs give activity indication.
The PYXIS P16IO is ideal for integration into automotive & component test systems.
The PYXIS KBDIO is not plug and play due to the design of the PC PS2 interface, the unit must be pulled into the PS2 port prior to booting the PC. The unit is supplied with a PS2 cable for connection to the PC in place of the standard keyboard. There are no specific windows drivers required.
